Russian Net Additions are Lowest in Last 2 Years

Russia

Key points of Russian cellular market development in September 2006:

• Number of subscribers (valid SIM cards) reached 148 mln (up 1.7 mln from August 2006, 29.4 mln from September 2005);
• Penetration increased to 101% (up 1% from August 2006, 24% from September 2005);
• There were 152 and 135 SIM cards in use per 100 population in Moscow and St.Petersburg respectively as of September 30, 2006.

Ukraine

Number of subscribers (valid SIM cards) reached 40 mln (up 1.6 mln from August 2006, 16.9 mln from September 2005). Penetration increased to 82% (up 3% from August 2006, 36% from September 2005).
